'Ask any question' - Day!

Keep me entertained. I figure that while I sit here, watching boring FinalCutPro tutorials all day - perhaps today can be a day of questions! : ) Ask me anything and I shall answer.....

Why do you sometimes post things on here, Twitter, etc and leave them for a short time and then remove them?
Just askin',

OP

London Andrews said...

Ah HA! You got me!

Sure lots of people wonder about that... anyways, I remove blogs because sometimes they just don't fit into the 'flow' of things.... While I enjoy writing the entries - weeks later, they just don't 'fit' into the bigger picture....

Lets say, you just found my blog online and you started reading back through the entries - but one entry is talking about scam artists and the next entry is about a website and the next one is about what I have been up to.... I like them to flow together.

I do the same thing on twitter.... I purge everything I say. I should probably stop doing that - since some people think I am deleting their twitter things on purpose.... oh well....

At large gatherings, are you more inclined to talk to the adults or the kids?

op

London Andrews said...

OP - thanks for keeping me occupied. No matter how much stuff I am reading about this program - I cannot figure out how to make the stupid audio stop beeping at me.... ahhhh ... losing my mind!

At large FAMILY gatherings - I talk to the kids more often - they are usually pretty cool and don't ask me about my future, my life goals or a 401k plan...

At gatherings not family related - I talk to the adults. I am more comfortable talking to middle aged strangers than random kids that I don't know....

I talked to some 10 year old kids in London UK - and they spit on me..... ugh. Kids are crazy.

Will you be my Valentine? LOL. j/k. Are you ever recognized on the street as being London Andrews? Do your real life female friends give you any grief over modeling since you're not Twiggy build? (not that Twiggy was anything to look at)

London Andrews said...

Since you asked first.... : ) I'll be your V-Day girl... : )

I have only been recognized twice in public. One time in an airport by a bondage fan that had just downloaded a LoneStar clip - the second guy noticed me in California and was into pin-ups - he asked me for my autograph... it was funny. I don't really expect anyone to notice me.... I dress like a total bum most of the time and never wear anything that shows off my cleavage, which is probably, the first thing that most guys would recognize anyways... : )

My friends, that are girls - don't really care much about dieting and weight and all the rest of it - We don't watch TV (in fact, we don't even own one) and we don't read crappy girl magazines that make you hate your self-image. If anything, I run into more BS about my weight from other models..... a lot of them just cannot understand how I can model fulltime and weigh 180. One model that I always looked up to, told me in 2006, "Your too overweight for this business - you should get a desk job or something."

Modeling is catty - and all based on image. I love my bodyshape. There are a lot of beautiful tall skinny models out there (and I love all those Twiggies) - but my bodyshape is harder to locate in the nude modeling industry... which is probably why I do ok..... or at least, I think that is why I get hired just as often as the other girls... who knows

Hey London

Love your blog, always a good read over lunch!

Couple of questions for ya:

-What's your worst/best memory of high school and why?

-What was your favorite pet you had as a child and why?

-If you knew today was your last day on Earth, how would you spend it and why?

-What is the most rewarding experience you have had and what made it so?

-Who or what inspires you and why?

Do you get asked to pose for drawing/painting classes? If so, how often?

As a photographer, I have no shortage of comedically embarasing stories about what happened to me on any of my photoshoots (usually attributed to my own klutziness).

Tells us about one of your most memorable shoots?

semi234 said...

How did &/or what caused you to get into modeling?

London Andrews said...

~Best highschool memory was escaping class with Matthew - lying in all the yellow dandylions, talking about what we were going to do when school ended. At the age of 18, everything is so possible and so open. ~Worst memory was failing Math class for the 3rd time. Ugh. I still suck with left brain/number stuff.

~We only had cats growing up - so I am a cat lover by nature. My favorite kitty is and will always be Little Kitty. He is a giant maine coon that I bought him for my mom's birthday (but he was really for me.) He has so much personality - When we first got him, he pooped in all the potted plants in the house. On thanksgiving, he jumped into the sink and grabbed the inards and dragged them all over the house... hahaha... he is horrible. I love my little gremlin kitty.

~Last day on earth, eh? I would track down Matthew, drive somewhere totally gorgeous, like Oracas Island or Doe Bay or maybe just Green Lakes in NY - and just sit and talk. Time is always well spent with him. I love my boyfriend - but he doesn't like to sit much.... so then maybe I would drive all the way back home and kiss him for awhile.... ha...

~Most Rewarding experience: I am not sure - there are a million different things that I feel have been rewarding at this point in my life.... I cannot pick one.

~Really great authors inspire me. Toni Morrison. Great music inspires me: Neko Case, Gillian Welch, Billie Holiday, Langhorne. As always, the person who inspires me the most and who probably dislikes all the work that I create - is my mom. And I don't just say that because she is my mom - I meet a helluva lot of people in my life..... and rarely I find a person who radiates sunlight. My mom does that

"I am more comfortable talking to middle aged strangers..." ouch!
Is your personality designed to fill a large room?
How's the banjo playing coming?

OP

London Andrews said...

~Do I pose for art classes?

Nope - not very often. I did my first drawing class two weeks ago - not at UT, but for a bunch of professors that get together once a week and draw, paint, create.... it was a lot of fun. I hope they ask me back.

I am going to try to sign up for the UT art classes - but, it is a pretty difficult, they get a lot of applications down here in Austin.... *hugs*

London Andrews said...

Memorable.... geeze - there are enough of those! : )

There was the time I got chased out of the house by a crazy wife - I posed for a midget once - I had a guy try to pay me with his pet turtle - One time a photographer got so nervous about his neighbors, he started piling empty cardboard boxes in front of his windows to block the view.

Got stopped by the cops with SLE for posing naked on a bridge in FL - one time a photographer got a leech in his boxers while I was shooting in a lake and his girlfriend had to burn it off with her lighter - one time a photographer offered Matthew and I his room while I was traveling through the state, and the photographer kept farting those nasty brocolli farts and it smelled SO bad but no one talked about it... haha...we just sat in this smelly fart room for hours - there was the time I got to go to Bam Maraga's house on a photoshoot, that was memorable in the least - one time I was drinking with a female photographer and woke up and I was missing $300 out of my wallet, never did that again

I don't know - there are so many more stories and I forget to write them all down....

London Andrews said...

How did I get into modeling - I have all different kinds of stories that I tell - because I ALWAYS get asked that on my shoots and I got sick of telling the same story over and over again..... ha... kind of like when I ask the photographers, "So how long have you been photographing!?" : )

Real story is that a photographer found me on Myspace (his name is Judas and he runs http://www.dollzofmyspace.com/london.php) He asked me to take some photos - I said Sure. We shot a bunch of stuff - Eventually he asked me if I would be interested in joining his site as a model- I looked at it, loved it, shot with him for it.... some of it went on ModelMayhem - people asked about me - I started shooting around town - and eventually started charging money - which led to traveling... : )

London Andrews said...

My personality is best one-on-one..... but I fill a large room pretty well. : ) I have done all kinds of promo work - getting people interested in whatever it is that I am selling/working on....

Friggin banjo. I love that banjo but I don't have time to practice. The cool thing is that my roommate, John - he is an amazing musician and he plays reggae banjo all over the house, now. I am just happy to see someone using it - to have it around the house - bouncing off the walls.... : )

I REALLY want to try to get on the travel channel.... ha. That would by my life goal at this point - to be a GlobeTrekkin girl.... but outside of Travel Channel - I don't really have the desire to act.... perhaps it is the fact that everytime I visit hollywood, it makes me sick or perhaps it is the people - but I have no interest in living in that type of world, even if it did work out.

But the Travel Channel! Now we are talking - anyone got any hook ups... : )

Last batch of questions:

List 5 goals on your life’s to-do list?

What is the one, single food that you would never give up?

What is your weirdest "quirk"?

Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?

Dream vacation?

Last CD you bought or mp3 download?

What book would you recommend for others to read?

Most memorable highlight on the road so far?

Appreciate you taking time out to answer

London Andrews said...

Chris - this is a deep question to consider....

You said all at ONCE. At the same moment.

Luckily, I am your girl to answer this - because I watched a bunch of vampire/werewolf/zombie films last month for Halloween and I am now an expert...

So it goes like this: The zombie wins!

I say this because according to 28 Days later, the zombie virus is IMMEADIATE! Within seconds of the virus being transferred, the person is an infected, blood spitting zombie-face.... this then KILLS the vampire (because according to Interview with the Vampire, Vampires cannot drink dead blood) so the vampire then dies before he can drink and transfer his blood to the victim... The werewolf virus (according to most movies) - does not take effect immeadiately..... usually until the next moon....

So I guess in the end, it could turn out to be a zombie that turns into a giant dead dog once a month - I think that is possible

But the vamp is out, fo sho

London Andrews said...

List 5 goals on your life’s to-do list? Write a book, save a life, learn how to make hummus, sing in a band (even a crappy one would be cool), and start my own business.

What is the one, single food that you would never give up? Mac N Cheese. Not even going to happen. I shall keep my big butt forever in exchange - it was a deal made with the Devil

What is your weirdest "quirk"? You'd have to ask Patrick... I have a LOT of weird quirks... I like to think my best quirk is where I make up my own language that kind of sounds like english, but it's not - and I go around trying to have conversations with people - they all think I am nuts or they are hard of hearing... haha... I get a kick out of it and do it often.

Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day? Matthew

Dream vacation? Camping in Canada or traveling on a donkey across Sprain

Last CD you bought or mp3 download? Langhorne Slim

What book would you recommend for others to read? Just finished this HUGE series called Clan of the Cave Bear - ha, but if you don't like 1500 paged books - you should skip it.

Most memorable highlight on the road so far? Highway 1

London Andrews said...

have you rendered your audio tracks or exceeded the limit of audio tracks before rendering?

Alright, so I read about about rendering the audio tracks in FinalCutPro - but how can you render the audio when it is attached to a video file? It is not like an MP3 ..... or just a simple audio track from itunes - it is a full video....

And I have probably exceeded the limit of audio allowed - but even when I only had one clip, 30 seconds like, dragged into the final track - it still beeped.....

I need to figure this out. Or I need to buy myself a new recording device.... I have $1400 sitting my paypal that I cannot touch until I figure out how to render these customs. I don't know what to do.

I was awesome with Movie Maker on my old computer - if I cannot figure this out today - I am going to have to return to Pat's computer and edit on that.... and it is going to be sloowwwwwww

Why does everything taste like chicken -- except Chicken McNuggets?

Who would win in a fight: Bert or Ernie?

Inquiring minds want to know.

London Andrews said...

We are an alien lifeform living on planet earth. When certain foods do not compute with our human tastebuds, they magically transform into a taste similar to what you consider 'chicken' - 'chicken' is actually the blackhold of flavors - it is a not a real thing. When a food cannot make up it's mind with what it wants to taste like - it defaults back to chicken-taste.... does that make sense? These answers come straight from god, I swear it....

And DUDE! Although it seems that Burt is the submissive in a very abusive relationship - Burt has actually been plotting revenge all these years! You ask me how I know this!? Obvious! Because while Ernie runs around, being the controlling douche that he is (telling Burt to fly upside down in the airplane and making him watch lame TV show about counting - forcing him to join in singing that pathedic Rubber Duckie song). Burt has secretly been waiting for the perfect time to slam Ernie's head in the closet door.... Burt is a hardcore killer! - I watch Dexter. I know that Burt has a dark side passenger - TV told me so

The Paysite.

It is not going forward. : ( ..... It is just that I cannot balance a budget big enough to encompass all that I was out of site. I have talked to several different programmers - it would cost at least $1000-$4000 to have the site designed (including photosets, video, blog, and the rest of it) -and I would want to have control over posting my own sets (most of web-guys say that they would have to do it - which is crap, I am not paying them for uploading stuff)- After the $1000-$4000, then you have to tag on the $750 for Visa (and that doesn't even include the other credit cards) - I could go through paypal and just skip credit cards all together - it would be cheaper but a lot of people use credit cards.....

I guess I just need someone who will work with me on the design - and would be able to do it on the side, with a small base pay, and afterwards, a percentage of sales......

Who knows. If you know of anyone that designs sites cheap and efficiently - that would be great, refer them my way.

As for the best Halloween costumes - I would love an all latex Cat Woman costume, with killer boots

London Andrews said...

How did you like flying transatlantic? Sitting that long SUCKS! And British customs made me cry - Flying overseas is always a pain in the butt (literally) but it is to be expected - I have another trip coming up to Jamacia in Feb - happily, it is not a million hour flight, though.

If you could have dinner with one person in all of history, who would it be? Dinner with anyone - Russell Crowe! Who would need dinner!? We could take breakfast in bed, thank you very much.

Is there an actor or actress you would watch in anything? I really like Seth Rogan - and he is good in just about everything - he is pretty fantastic, you know.

Did you get the pictures I sent a couple months back? Are you the guy from Tempe? Because yes, I did get those photos! Thanks for sending them! : ) If you are not the guy from Tempe... haha... I am not sure, I get lots of photos.

And since COD:MW 2 is out, why do girls suck at video games? ducks Girls are of a higher more intelligent species than guys.... therefore we suck at video games, because they are pointless and waste too much time. I could be writing blogs or off getting naked somewhere.... you know. : )

I'm a professional writer -- assuming that's not a contradiction in terms -- but you leave me in the dust.

Which leads to a serious question: Have you ever thought about writing for a living? You are quick, clever and have a definite way with words.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who stumbled on to your site after seeing your pictures on the Wild Wild Web only to be knocked out by your charm and wit.

At the very least, you should consider writing a memoir. You seem to have led an amazing -- and amazingly full -- life for someone so young.

I would love to write professionally.... As a writer, I do not believe that I am diciplined enough to write for a magazine or newspaper (I suck at deadlines and research and restrictions), but I would really love to write a book someday.

Keep picking up books from the New York Times Bestsellers list - bunches of them are about traveling and adventure (helping those married women with children escape for awhile). I think if I could approach writing a book in the manner that 'Eat, Pray, Love' was written - It might have a chance. I don't know where to start though....

How does a person sit down a write an entire book? I mean, I do not have Attention Deficit Disorder or anything - but that seems like a long time writing. For me, a single blog can take two hours.

What do you write for!? There are a couple pro-writers that read this blog... and few have even written permission to paraphrase a bunch of stuff in their articles.... It's fun. : )

HAHAHAHA - Had so much fun filming those clips. When Dave realized that Courtney Crave had an automatic suspension thing in her basement - he was like, "We HAVE to get Tracy suspended up there!"

I did all kinds of dirty things off camera.... : ) I get a little carried away when it comes to torturing poor Tracy.... : ) That day was a blast. Afterwards, I hung around with Angela Ryan and Courtney and watched Court try on all of Angela's bras - trying to figure out what size her new boobs are.... : ) *goodtimes*

Oh Derek! Don't you go asking all those 'adult questions' on me... : )

If gravity does not pull my boobs to my ankles anytime soon, I am hoping to model until I am 27. I used to think that 25 was the cutoff age and was already making plans to get another job - but if anything, in the past year, my work load has gotten heavier. I can still hit up a big city like LA, NYC, DC and walk away with a few grand..... it is a hard job to pass up when I really only need to work hard for a week and half once a month and I get all the freetime I want - I should probably make better use of all this freetime, though, huh?

Favorite children's movies: Beauty and the Beast (because I thought the Beast was hot - even when I was seven) And The Last Unicorn because it is just twisted and strange

While I was not really suprised by London's diversity (NYC is very much the same, in the respect, that it attracts people from all over the world - I felt bad constantly comparing everything to NY, but I am human and we like to compare things against one another) - I was amazed at all the different kinds of food on every street corner.... AND I was amazed that most of the Pubs serve different kinds of food - Thai food, Vietnamese food, Indian Curry..... our bars only serve burgers and fried food.... that is about it.

As a fellow drinker, I was happy to find out that much of your culture revolves around going to the pub! I would have found myself there eventually anyways....

The whole warm-beer thing, while it is strange..... is also pretty delicious. I give you 5 stars for a good drinking atmosphere, Mr UK. 5 stars

Nude modeling sucks but sticking a needle into someone's flesh is cool.... : ) Whatever, it is a profession I should think about - I would probably do well with it...

And backing up, if I was to become a tattoo artist - Yes, Deanna - I would probably get two full sleeves of tattoos... it would be my new take on life, you know. All my followers would get grossed out and leave me (since most of the people who follow me, do so because I have that 'all natural' thing going on) It would end my modeling career completely and I could concentrate on owning my own tattoo parlor full of hot sexy bitches with needles!

What would your most ultimate fantasy photo shoot be?

Would you work with amateur photographers, who are looking to "break into" the whole nude photography scene? If so, how do approach working with photographers who have no references yet?

London Andrews said...

Not counting vampire companions....

Bella would get her ASS handed to her by Sookie the-southern-no-nonsense-bell..... Bella is SUCH a wimp.... When Edward left her, she curled up in a ball, in the middle of the woods and willed herself to die. Come on. Picture Sookie doing that! Wouldn't happen. Sookie is a spit-fire.... she would claw eyeballs, chew nails, and light people on fire to win a fight

But if you count boyfriends - Edward is an attack-dog.... and Edward would totally take out both Eric and Bill at once....

Excited for New Moon!? Yup yup - I think I am.... I am a big fan of Jacob the werewolf

London Andrews said...

THEE Ultimate Photoshoot - would involve a huge production team. There would be a hairstylist, makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, and a mindblowing photographer... in a atmosphere that most people would not have access to....

Like a High Flying Circus or Grand Central or The Statue of Liberty ..... or the big Lebowski set something....

I don't have an 'ultimate' - I just have things that 'could' be an ultimate... : ) I would love to shoot at a circus though - that Cristina Agulara video was sooooo gorgeous! I just watch it and wish that I could be on that set for two hours taking photos in the background...

London Andrews said...

I work A LOT of amatuer photographers - as long as they approach the shoot as professional and respectful, I almost prefer working with the newBs.....

If you are looking to break into shooting models - I recommend that you shoot a friend or two (it doesn't need to be nude), and try to join Modelmayhem.com You will usually be approved or denied within a few days.

As for working with people without references, I usually require a telephone convo beforehand and sometimes I bring a friend to tag along to the shoot - just to make sure things don't get weird, you know?

"What do you write for!?"

To answer your question that you asked when answering my questions (wow, how very meta), I write ads on a freelance basis for an advertising. Nothing terribly glamorous or sexy, I'm afraid.

While I certainly understand your misgivings -- it can take me hours just to come up with a headline that doesn't suck -- I definitely think you should take a shot at writing down your life story. You seem to have led such an interesting existence, and you have the wit, the talent and the eye for detail to turn it into a compelling, compulsively readable story. Just take it one word at a time.

Oh ewww.... kids! Can you imagine someone as selfish as I am - the way that I live my life and enjoy traveling, being all irresponsible and everything - having a brood of children!? No friggin way, nope, not happening, darlin.... nope. That to me, is like a complete nightmare

I saw a psychic once and she said, "I see you walking up a long flight of stairs, dragging a small child behind you - the kid is dragging it's feet, holding you back from the life you wanted and all the things that your soul wants to fullfill - your entire being is resentful and angry towards it. I do not recommend that you have children in this lifetime" Although I just met the lady three minutes prior - she described the exact feeling that I get when I think about having kids. Dragging a small child behind me while I try to find my way in life....

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE kids (at least the ones that behave and climb into my lap) - I have sixteen younger cousins and I am the oldest in the family.... And chances are that my younger brother will be a baby-making machine in a few years.... but I don't need my own....

*sigh* Pat would make a great dad, though - which makes me sad (I don't want to denying him him kids if he really wants them ) - I don't know. He says he could just have a house full of dogs - but I am not sure if that is true.

*wow* rant - huh? : ) Never get me started on kids.

London Andrews said...

I am pretty happy these days. I wish I had something fun to do while Pat is at work all day - I get pretty bored - I signed up to walk shelter dogs once or twice a week - the training session is on the 21st.... so I guess that is something.

I love my house
My city
My boyfriend
My kitty
My awesome new tea shop
The grass in my front yard
My topless car
My roommates
The music in my house
I am pretty happy

The only thing that puts my head in a 'weird unhappy place' is that I just wish that douchebags would stop existing in this business (I know that is impossible wishing for something like that - but 'wishing' is everyone's right) - I don't like the whole sexual side of the modeling business - never have. It ruins me sometimes..... I go on I-hate-modeling binges. That last trip is going to follow me around for awhile. That whole lost in another country, spending time with a perve, pushed feeling is going to resonate with me for awhile... ugh. I wish photography was just fun and creative and exciting all the time..... but I guess we all have jobs where sometimes we have to suck-up a bad day, you know....
