Happy Tracy is alive - sad my car is broken - especially with the big move to Austin coming up next week..... not sure where I am going to come up with this money? The people at Pep-Boys just called and said that the car is so rusted the break lines have busted apart, leaking break fluid - Pep-boys will not touch it because all the rust is a liability.... having it towed to the Ford Dealership. $169.00 for diagnostics test. Tomorrow afternoon, I will know if I can afford to fix it - or if I will have to junk it...

OK well if you haven't yet sent it to ford let me know. I will see if I have any shops close to that Pepboys queens, rather then sending it to the stealership. If they can point out the rusted area can you send a picture of it? Might be able to offer some help.

We are definitely going to the dealership... Only because the guy who owns it is friend of the family... But it would be great to hear what you have to say about the damage. Send me your cell. I won't post it... Send you some cell pics. Could totally use your help... This blows. All the money going towards the car is coming out of austin... I might have to get a used car if the mustang costs too much

I had the same problem with my Ford, I had to replace all of the brake lines from mid-point back. The lines themselves shouldn't be that bad, but while they're doing the work you may want to replace the brakes as well.

Thats hard luck. My bro in law had a 94' Mustang GT Conv, black on black with leather interior. He ended up giving it away. That car was ok when it was new, but the paint started going bad, started getting electrical and a/c probs.
What ended his love with it was when he started having fuel and fuel gauge probs, oh and rear glass fell out of the rag top once too. I don't recall the milage on it when he turned her loose. Some guy was supposed to restore it.
Hope its not to expensive of a fix for ya.
My car would be fine, if it wasn't for all the rust NY state put on it... all the ice and salt just really tore it up.
The brakes I had replaced last year (Victor did them for me... ) so the actual breaks are pretty good.... seems to be driving well. Lets hope nothing else happens to it... it only needs to last one more month, dammit! Just let me get all our stuff down to TX and then I can look into getting a new car...
Ya, you should be able to find a nice car in Austin! If you buy used, run a carfax report and enter the VIN number on the manufacturers website to check for recalls. You never know if a recall has been missed. I use to run every VIN number at the Dodge dealer I use to work at, even if it were there for an oil change, if I didn't know the customer...
Most would say wow I never recieved a letter or I bought it used.
