Sunflowers in Kansas City

Been asked quite a few times why my traveling schedule was detouring me from Chicago... to Omaha ... to Kansas City.. and then back home - The answer to that is art!

Tracy and I detoured because there were a few photographers down south that I had never had the chance to work with but had always wanted to shoot with. One of those photographers being Stephen Melvin. He has been holed up in Middle America Kansas since I started modeling in 2005. It took three years, but Hell Yes! I got to shoot with Stephen friggin Melvin.... and he was all that and the bag of Doritos! Shot the Mustang in a cornfield - all leopard printed out - in the downpour of a rain storm!

Kansas City was so warm! Tracy and I sloshed around in one-of-many water fountains that decorates KC (Did you know that Kansas City is called the City of Fountains?) We watched a homeless picnic take place - where all the food came from the garbage can. We were entertained by the happiest dog you have ever seen in your life.....On our way to Columbia Missouri, Tracy and I came upon a giant field of sunflowers..... which I, of course, off-roaded into and made her get naked in - the photo below is one of her G-rated ones... ha

One of the nice Colombian photographers, booked us a room at the ancient Wetter-Shaw Manor, which is now operating as a Bed and Breakfast - This plantation home has been traced all the way back to 1819. While it is still in great shape, after much reconstruction - you can only imagine what it must have looked like during the plantation-times -Pillars, balconies, giant hanging tress, old fireplaces. The house was littered with original oil paintings from the 1900's...

Got to talk to Matthew tonight..... have not heard from him since May, it was a nice chit-chat session....

Glad to hear you got to shoot with your car. I really can't wait to see how the seat covers look. Thanks for remembering my humble request. Next time you are in Maryland give me a shout. Maybe I can shoot you with my mustangs and line up the old Ford truck with cowgirl hat. Glad to hear you heard from Matthew. Stay safe and have fun.

Sounds like it was well worth the detour. Good to hear the Mustang got its due too. You two in the Fountain remind me of La Dolce Vita(Old Movie, Very Good, Trust Me). What is it about sunflowers that makes everyone stop and go oooooohhhhh?

Going to MD one more time... probably in late September - always make good money in that city and I have good friends there as well.... would be great to grab dinner or something while I am in town... : )

Sunflowers are the happiest flower out there... well, next to the Daisy. The daisy is a pretty happy flower as well...
