Another kind of Family...

Matt, Patrick and I attended a Twitter-up this week - Which is a celebratory party for people who spend far too much time on the Internet - I am one of these people! We Tweet, we Tumble, we Flick, we Social Network! About fifty percent of those Twitter-up folk work from home, running their businesses, living in front of a monitor, making friends online....

A lot of people who attended the Twitter-up, also read this blog (which is fantastic... thanks for taking the time to stop by and check it out) - Surprisingly, I was even nominated for an Austin Blogger Award! Nominated! Me?.. How cool is it that I have lived in this city for only one year, and people actually voted for me here in TX!

Got into this conversation with one of my twitter buds (you can follow him at @ColeH on Twitter) - The conversation was really eye opening, touching, and it made me think about something that I have never really put my mind to before. He was talking about how upsetting it is that I cannot share my life and my success with my family - And he then said something like, "Isn't it cool to have such a huge family online, that is so open and accepts all that you do?" - And you know what? He is completely correct. Even though I cannot share my life with my immediate family - You guys *are* my family.... I look up to you. You are my soundboard. You are my inspiration. You listen to what I have to say and you give me grand advice on all things. You have helped me in times of need. You have supported my modeling career, my writing, my decisions (even the bad ones), my adventures, need to travel - You send me letters about your family, your lives. I know many of you personally. You have been there for all things - I just wanted to say Thank You. Thank you for all that you have done this year. It is great having a family that I can be open with, a family that I do not need to hide from.... I am Evan's little sister, I am VikingMan's lady chasing her dreams, I am Doug's kitty loving friend, I am Michael Ball's London shrine, I am Nicole and Erica's new bud... I love you all much. Just wanted you to know that.

You definetely are our new bud. And I know I can speak for both me and Erica wen I say that we're both proud to be your bud. You're an awesome person with a huge heart that shows your concern for not just people out there but the environment (like the recycling thing with the bottles), animals. You're awesome. You might look up to those of us in your "family" but we look right back up to you. Hope you know that. <3 ya girl.

...Oh - And by the way London. The two pics you've posted with this post are without doubt my favorite of all time (so far (o;). You look absolutely great. They're arguably your best ever (in my eyes anyhow). Would love to get them as prints! "Nudge-nudge, wink-wink, say no more!"

And we thank you for sharing with us. It takes a big, brave person to open up like you do. You have brought us along on your adventures and we have learned a lot. In a way, you have been there for us, the least we can do is be there for you. Thanks for bring some smiles to the days.

Damn. You kinda made me sound like I'm smart! ;-) Glad I was able to say something that resonated with you. It makes me feel good to know that my words helped you out with that situation...
