Curves in the Media

Playing around on twitter (like usual) and was pleasantly surprised to read @GaryPranzo's update about the new Models.com highlight on the Spring Issue of V-Mag. And then, my friend Chris Taylor brought yet another article to my attention! Hell yes, Crystal Renn!! While Crystal has nothing to do with the alternative modeling industry (nude modeling has absolutely nothing to do with fashion modeling)..... Shape, form and size I can relate to!! - Fantastic to see a size 12 Ford model (FYI, I am a 14), doing this well in the industry - Blows my mind!

This is a Win for the Curves, people! A step in the direction where being a size 2 is not the only way to be beautiful - It would allow thighs and hips to thrive a bit.... I am going to go out and pick up Crystal's memoir book this week.... in the very least, perhaps she can give me a good workout routine..

I am so glad REAL women are not being fetished but finally being presented as the gorgeous, intelligent, fun-loving and fierce goddesses that they are. Bones are for dogs;real men love curves. Oh and London I know you're a 14 but to me you'll always be a Perfect "10". To me you're the standard to which healthy voluptuous females should aspire to be. I mean that, don't laugh! xoxo

Women were meant to have breasts, hips and prominent behinds; that is the essence of "female" and "femininity". Skinny, fake, skeletal females that look like prepubescent boys are not women to me, they're creatures who've been brainwashed and need to be pitied. Curvy females rule and no magazine or TV show will ever change my mind!

I think that all women are beautiful - I love oogling at the ethereal models on the runway - so gorgeous, they look like they stepped off another planet...

But I am really happy to see that women with curves are being given some spotlight - I cannot tell you how many letters I get from women (all via internet), who are much much smaller than me, who feel too big for society - they write me to vent.... and it always makes me sad, they they are all that beautiful, and they all want to cover up their bodies because society says they are not 'pretty'.... drives me nuts....

Google Account, thanks for that link.... great stuff!

I love that our large n lovely sisters are getting the adoration they deserve and London you truly represent that beauty. Now if only us chubby guys got a fraction of that love as well (from our chubby sisters, nonetheless) this truly would be a much happier world. I can always wish. ;)

London, the Renn memoir is just terrific. One thing I enjoyed about it is that she definitely describes modeling as a craft and shows a knowledge and interest in it beyond the immediately professional. Also, later on there is some discussion of her her nude work which found very insightful and may be directly relevant to your own modeling.
